Letting us know about absences - Groupcall
Groupcall is the name of the announcement message system which is now being used by Plockton High School to contact parents/guardians of pupils who are absent from school without a prior explanation (e.g. notice of an appointment etc) or without an explanation supplied on the day - i.e. a telephone call to the school to alert us to the fact that your child is to be absent due to, for example, illness.
In the interests of pupil safety and welfare, if you child is not going to be in school we ask you to contact the school before 9.15 a.m. to explain, this can be by telephone or e-mail kathryn.anderson@highland.gov.uk. If your child is absent without this explanation, or prior information, you will receive the following Groupcall message to the telephone number(s) which you have provided.
'First name'* is absent from school today. Only contact the school if you are concerned. Please ensure that you provide a note on return. Thanks'
We ask that you continue to provide a written note on return so that Group Tutors can keep their records up to date. Could we also remind you to inform us in the event of a change to a telephone number (Home, work of mobile)
