The main duty of the new Parent Council which has been established as a replacement for School Boards throughout the country is to improve communication between parents and the School and to promote parental involvement in the life of the School. The Parent Council also has a right to raise funds for the School.
The current main priorities of the Parent Council are continuing support for accommodation improvements in the school.

Education Maintenance Allowance
EMAs are available, subject to Parental Income, to pupils who continue their education beyond the statutory leaving age of 16. Leaving dates are 31st May for pupils whose sixteenth birthday falls between 1st March and 30th September, and Christmas for pupils whose sixteenth birthday falls between 1st October and the last day of February in any year). Pupils awarded fortnightly EMAs must be in full-time attendance at School and be following an appointed course of study. Student's conduct, progress and attendance are monitored and reviewed prior to each fortnightly payment - as set out in the Learning Agreement which is signed by the student and his/her Guidance Teacher.
